For this assignment, we took the About Me page in Neocities, and added images to it. We had to add at least 3 images that fit the page. We used the code <img src="...." alt="....." title="......"> to add the images.

For this page, we needed to write an About Me page. We needed to use the formula for linking and the new links to post links. We needed to find 5 websites that we used a lot and link them on the page. Then, we needed to add the links for the 3 pages that we had posted in Neocities. For this assignment we were told to find the recipe of a certain food and use the codes <ol></ol>, <il></il>, and <ul></ul>. I found the recipe for chocolate brownies. We used Neocities. For this assignment, we used Neocities, and we needed to add line breaks, horizontal rules, and make words italic and bold. We had to come up with poems and use these new codes in them. I think the most difficult part of this assignment was writing the poems more than actually coding. It was harder than I thought to come up with the topic then find words that rhymed and fit the topic. The topic for the 6 questions that I chose was random philosophical questions about life. I chose this topic because it is a topic that interests me a lot. I feel like there could be so many more answers to these questions if people started studying them more. Out of the 6 questions, my favorite question was "If a tree falls down in the woods and there was no one for miles to hear it, did the tree actually make noise?"
For this portion of the assignment, we were first told to write 15 words that described the company for the logo we were making. We were then told to draw 15 different sketches for the logo might look like. From these 15 sketches, we were told to choose 3 of our favorite logos. I think the most challenging part of this assignment was being able to recreate something online. Sketching the logos were a lot easier than actually making them on Corel Vector since we did not have a limited amount of different shapes we could use. My favorite part of the process was coming up with the 15 different sketches. I think this was one of the most challenging parts of this entire assignment, which made it one of the more fun parts. From making these 15 different sketches based off of the same idea, I learned that there could be many different variations of the same logo. I learned that if someone had to make a different variation of a certain picture, it would be possible no matter how simple the drawing was. The name of my brand is "Graffiti Faces." I thought of making this the logo of this brand because it is a face that I usually draw as an emoji. It reminded me of graffiti, and I combined the two together to get "Graffiti Faces." This brand is supposed to be a spray paint brand, which is where the third logo variation came out. My favorite logo is the purple version of the first logo that says Graffiti Faces with the echo. This was my favorite because I thought the design went well with the light purple color. It was also my favorite design out of all 3.For this project, we were told to create a logo from our own ideas, and every single one out of the 15 must be different. On one side of the paper, we wrote down 15 words that described the logo and what kind of company the logo was for. Then, next to that, we came up with at least 15 drawings of a logo. We were supposed to make them so that the designs were all at least a bit different from each other. My logo was a drawing of a vampire emoji that was for a spray paint brand. My favorite ones were #4, #5, and the original drawing, #1.Color Names Color Schemes
Typography is the use of fonts to make important things more clear. It organizes articles and makes the message more clear. Typography is important because it lets the eye catch more important things first and less important things after. If typography is not used, the paper will look messy and the message will not be sent clearly. The quote "Each font has a personality and a purpose" means that each font has a situation where it is used. There are fonts that are used to design posters and fonts that are used to write articles. The first font that we learned about in class is the Serif font. Serif fonts have a baseline for each letter. An example of a Serif font is Times New Roman. This is used for articles and printed material. The second font that we learned about in class is the San Serif font. It is similar to the Serif font but there is no baseline for each letter. An example of a San Serif font is Open Sans. San Serif fonts are used on the web. The third font that we learned about in class is the Monospaced font. In a Monospaced font, the same amount of space is given to each letter. That means an i and a m would have the same amount of space. An example of a Monospaced font is PT Mono. Monospaced fonts are used for coding. The fourth font that we learned about in class is the handwritten font. It is a font that makes something look like it is handwritten. It is less neat than other typed fonts and looks smoother. An example of a handwritten font is Over the Rainbow. The fifth font that we learned about in class is the Display font. Display fonts are fonts that are used to make titles or posters. They have more detailed designs that other normal fonts. An example of a display font is Oi.Typeface ComparisonIn this assignment, we were supposed to put an example of every type of font. The different fonts were put under the font family and the name was written under the example.Word PortraitsIn this assignment, we were told to choose and font and choose a word that the font reminded you of. We were also supposed to put a word that the font did not remind you of.In this lesson, we learned how to make images with code in Khan Academy. We learned how to code different shapes to make the image we wanted. The image I made is of a room with glasses. Someone left their glasses and left the house. In the background, there is a window with a sun showing through. I chose to make this image because I wear glasses. Some people always have their glasses on, but I find it easy to lose my glasses somewhere. |
